Exactly 30 anniversary after the first Toy Story film was released, establishing Pixar as a leading film company and bringing viewers to beloved characters like the cowboy doll (Tom Hanks) and Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), who are now famous worldwide.

Coming in 2026, the next chapter is scheduled for release. The initial preview for Toy Story 5 appeared this week, providing a brief look into the plot but keeping viewers wondering how it will resolve the conclusion of Toy Story 4.

The Latest Addition: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Spooks the Gang

In the teaser shows the young girl — who received the toy collection when he left for college — receiving a brand new toy, one that terrifies the familiar toy group. Bonnie gets her first tablet computer, and she is thrilled about it.

Presumably, the amphibian-inspired device will animate just like Bonnie's other toys. Still, the characters appear to consider it as a danger coming to replace them, which it probably is.

The Cowboy's Comeback: Unanswered Questions from Toy Story 4

An element the teaser avoids is what Woody is back with his companions in Bonnie's room. The finale of Toy Story 4 saw him set off on a fresh journey with Bo Peep (Annie Potts), traveling with a carnival and assisting prize toys locate loving owners.

Certainly, the filmmakers will address the aftermath of Toy Story 4 in the film. Witnessing him show up in Bonnie's room without warning is somewhat puzzling, though. It also raises questions whether Bo Peep will have returned with him. And what about the stuntman toy (the star)?

Continuity from the Previous Film

Fortunately, some elements are continuing from the earlier movie. The last thing the cowboy did before setting off for his new life was pass his sheriff badge to the cowgirl (the voice actor), entrusting her as the leader of the toy domain. The clip displays the badge attached to her shirt.

It is hoped she is remains the driving force among the toys.
