That Gruesome Animated Movie Conclusion That Haunts Viewers

Out of all the adult-oriented animated films I’ve personally viewed, nothing has stuck with me quite like the fear-filled finale of the viscerally violent as well as highly provocative film from 2022 Unicorn Wars.

In the year 2015, this Spain-based filmmaker crafted a dark, somber and frequently brutal universe with some tiny , forlorn hints of hope.

While Unicorn Wars seems like it stemmed from an impulse to push animation even more, the director explained that it was more a try to express a global, multicultural theme about “the common origin of all wars.”

This theme is conveyed by means of a band of brightly hued teddy bears , obviously modeled after a well-known series of lovable characters.

Growing up in a community focused on warmongering and the defense industry, a lot of these creatures are consumed by exterminating the mythical beasts, thanks to a religious scripture that claims the bears they previously were kings of the forest, until the horned beings forced them out.

A few haven’t fully bought into the indoctrination, , choose to try out substances and engage sexually outdoors.

Unlike their cuddly counterparts, these vivid animals display genitals , obvious libidos.

For a particular especially vicious, cynical bear, the bear named Bluey, the war with unicorns transforms into a road to power — and especially to dominance over his gentler, nicer brother the bear Tubby.

This bear behaves aggressively and an obvious sociopath , and when terror takes over his group and kills his teammates one by one, he seizes progressively power personally, through ever more violent, harmful methods.

Meanwhile, the unicorns are experiencing their own nightmare, as a spreading, deadly beast in their habitat.

“Initially, it seems like a comedy,” the director stated. “However it turns into a more dramatic and sad film. And in the finale, it transforms into a horror film.”

Unicorn Wars begins resembling one of the most whimsical films by a legendary filmmaker, that uncover a mischievous joy in allowing cartoon characters swear, fire weapons, or have intimate relations.

Then it evolves into something more like a darker film from the same director, with increasingly explicit brutality and a noticeable connection to the actual horror of conflict.

By the end, it becomes a complete theatrical horror bloodbath.

The horror which makes the film a Halloween-friendly viewing starts a lot earlier than indicated.

The Unicorn Wars is ideal for the most dedicated lovers of violence, for enthusiasts of intense movies who desire to view something they haven’t ever viewed until now, and are able to withstand a plot which delivers unflinching brutality.

View it in a dimly lit space without any distractions, and the conclusion will burrow into your mind and take up residence there.
