Gus Atkinson added to England's injury problems upon exiting the ground early on day two of the Boxing Day Test versus the Australians.

Atkinson experienced discomfort in his left leg post-delivery of the fourth over on Saturday.

The England team stated the 27-year-old reported "discomfort" and was to take time off the field in order to be assessed "over the next few hours".

The series decider of the series at the SCG starts this coming Sunday.

The English side has been without fast bowlers Mark Wood with a knee problem and Jofra Archer to a side strain during this series.

Atkinson struggled during the first two matches, managing only a handful of scalps.
