The City of Angels witnessed widespread festivities after the Los Angeles Dodgers won a nail-biting seven-match World Series title. Fans across the globe united with local residents in celebration, marking the initial time in a quarter-century that a team has secured back-to-back championships.

Victory Parade Attracts Massive Crowds

Local events included a procession through the city center on Monday morning, a ticketed rally at Dodger Stadium, and impromptu gatherings across the city.

Social media videos depict thousands of Los Angeles residents packing city center avenues, many carrying handmade banners and Dodger flags. The team was seen traveling proudly on a double-decker bus through the crowds, hoisting the Commissioner’s trophy high.

“I’m already thinking about the next championship we’re going to do this,” Shohei Ohtani remarked through an interpreter.

The parade route ended at Dodger Stadium, where the players emerged to the rapper’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ providing music and the artist driving a Pacific blue classic car around the field.

Early Celebrations and Athlete Responses

Celebrations started prior to the parade, with supporters lighting fireworks in the streets of Downtown Los Angeles on the previous evening.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto, awarded the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, commented plainly about the victory.

“Losing is not an option,” Yamamoto stated. “I love the Dodgers. I love Los Angeles.”

Mixed Reactions and Community Spirit

However, Mark Walter was met with a cooler reception at the rally. Video footage from the event appear to show Walter walking onstage to a combination of cheers and boos, with jeers interrupting his speech.

The championship served as a bright spot in what has been a challenging year for the city. An approximate quarter-million people attended to the championship parade last year, and according to team member Freddie Freeman, supporters this year showed equal or greater enthusiasm.

“It seems it’s almost double from last year,” he said. “These fans are crazy. It’s truly amazing to be a part of this.”
