Football Analyst Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts
Arsenal's 10-game winning streak came to an end by the Black Cats before the global break, however will the English top division frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."
The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of guests.
For week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.
The singer's new album, the new release, is out on the weekend.
Football and Family Experiences
Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a star of several Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a player.
"{I actually played in a benefit match the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."
Murs and his spouse his partner have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.
"I won't push football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday football side," he added.
"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a while too.
"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our team for two or three years and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their offense is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.
In my opinion this game will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.
This suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.
The expert's forecast: 1-2
The singer's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have lost their previous couple matches - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
In contrast, West Ham secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.
The Hammers' sole on the road victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno was still Forest manager.
Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be West Ham extending their run under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?
I will choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
The pundit's prediction: 2-0
The guest's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign began, but they have surprised a few people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their past four matches.
A family member told me to select Brentford forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
The forward will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had great fortune on the road this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a threat.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
Olly's prediction: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many goals but it in reality proves to be rather tight. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six games.
Fulham have have lots of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.
As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.
The away side's display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else rough up the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.
The sensible thing to do to back the visitors here, because they are obviously able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.
But I am not going to do that. Instead, I really need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.
Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the only team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.
Sutton's forecast: 1-0
The guest's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a poor run... but they have nonetheless been respectable at home this season. 2-0
The algorithm's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a hard fixture to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but could they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
