The British player advanced to round three in three of the four Grand Slams in the current campaign.

Britain's Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from the last two tournaments this season as a result of a medical condition she has been battling over the past 10 days.

The 22-year-old was scheduled to compete in Tokyo and Hong Kong but has decided to fly home to recover before starting her preparations for 2026.

Her upcoming training are set to feature her coach Francisco Roig, as the pair have decided to continue collaborating again next season.

The tennis professional required blood pressure checks in her opening round against Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and withdrew when losing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She again required a visit from the doctor at this week's Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in round one.

Raducanu was also moving with clear difficulty in the deciding set versus Zhu owing to a lower back issue that has troubled her on several occasions in 2025.

Such performances followed a positive campaign, in which Raducanu rose into the world's top 30 after more than three years for the first time since 2022, finished with a trio of defeats.

She held three match points prior to falling to Jessica Pegula in the third stage in the Beijing tournament last month.

The player achieved twenty-eight matches this year and advanced to the semis in the Washington tournament, but her standout performance was at March's Miami Open.

Ranked first in Britain reached the quarter-finals of this WTA 1000 tournament, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament before losing in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She was coached by Mark Petchey as coach between Miami and Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in for the US Open.

The initial agreement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was through the season's conclusion but the partnership will continue, with planned training sessions in the coming months.

Raducanu told that her three-day trial with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

She nearly succeeded to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in Cincinnati in August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in the New York tournament, where she made the third stage prior to losing to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
